Dr. Duerr was born and raised in Auburn Hills, Michigan, where he attended Notre Dame Preparatory High School. As both a captain of the football team and a 4.0 student, he learned early the value of dedication, teamwork, and perseverance. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan before completing his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Michigan, graduating in the top 10% of his class.
After beginning his dental career in Michigan, Dr. Duerr decided to trade the snow for sunshine and relocated to coastal North Carolina. Although Michigan will always hold a special place in his heart—especially when it comes to football—Dr. Duerr has deep roots in Wilmington as well. His family has long spent summers at Kure Beach, where he grew up enjoying the boardwalk, local donuts and ice cream, and the simple joys of sandy beaches and salt air. Choosing Wilmington as his permanent home felt like a natural decision.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Duerr enjoys running half marathons, playing volleyball weekly, and spending as much time outdoors as possible. He’s an avid sports fan, with a particular love for college football.
Since moving to Wilmington in 2023, Dr. Duerr has been proud to serve patients at Porters Neck Dental Aesthetics. His ultimate goal as a clinician is to provide effective, efficient, and personalized care through a patient-centered approach. He has completed advanced training at the Colorado Surgical Institute, further strengthening his expertise in surgical, implant, and restorative dentistry.
